About the organizers: Headspin & Logan Downtown
It all started when…
9 years ago a partnership between a new cycling event, (Cache Gran Fondo) and the Logan Downtown Alliance formed over a singular idea to create an event that focused on providing a world-class athletic experience in the heart of downtown Logan, Utah. In 2019 the Cache Gran Fondo was ranked the #6 Gran Fondo in North America featuring 1500 riders from 23 different states and 7 different countries. As a qualifier event, the Cache Gran Fondo is one of 25 events worldwide where amateur racers can qualify to race for their country in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
Our goal is to take the great legacy of the Top of Utah Marathon and apply the same level of event structure from these other Downtown Logan events, to create an experience that celebrates the runner and brings the runner community closer together in a festive downtown venue.
We start by closing off an entire block, and for the Logan City Marathon that street in 2020 will be Historic Center Street between Main Street and 100 West. In 2019, because of new construction on Center Street, the start/finish will move one-block north to 100 North. Then we engage with several downtown restaurants to provide a special meal for all the participants, and for the marathon attendees in 2019. We will be serving brunch and will have a lot of snacks from Great Harvest, Lee’s Marketplace and lots of Pepsi and Gatorade products too. We’ll also take your running experience to a new level with the Altra Runner’s Festival where running products and services will be showcased to both runners and spectators in a party-like atmosphere! Top it off with great live music, plenty of seating, and a photo podium and back-drop to making the entire block a fun and exciting place before, during and after the racing.
